Landscape designer, horticulturalist, & garden design mentor for DIY gardeners

Hi, I’m Tina —

I help people design beautiful gardens using the same simple frameworks landscape designers use on real projects.

I hold a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture, a Master’s in Landscape Architecture, and I’ve designed residential landscapes for Bay Area firms and my own practice here in Napa, California.

The problem I kept seeing

Over and over, I’d meet people who had:

  • Spent weekends and paychecks on “promising” plants

  • Tried a dozen Pinterest ideas

  • Ended up with random beds and mismatched areas that never felt quite right

It wasn't their fault. They were just missing the thing designers start with:
a clear way to see the whole garden as one connected space.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Most DIY gardens don’t work because they’re built on plant purchases, not on structure. (I get it because I’ve done it myself!)

My approach: structure first, then plants

Designers don’t start by shopping for plants. We start by asking:

  • How does the space need to be used?

  • Where should people walk, pause, and gather?

  • Where do beds, paths, and focal points actually belong?

Once your framework is in place, every plant has a job. Your garden starts to feel cohesive, intentional, and easy to live in.

You might be thinking, “I just want to know which plants to use…”

Good. Because once your framework is clear, choosing plants becomes 100× easier — and a lot more fun.

I teach you how to see your space with a designer’s eye, so you can finally create the garden you’ve been imagining.

Who Greenhouse Studio is for:

Greenhouse Studio is for gardeners & homeowners who:

  • Want a beautiful, designer‑level garden without hiring a designer

  • Care about both aesthetics and practicality: beauty, function, and low‑maintenance

  • Are willing to learn a simple process and apply it step by step

If you want someone to “just do it for you,” I’m not your person.

If you want a mentor to guide you while you design your own space, you’re in exactly the right place.

How we can work together (right now)

I’m building workshops and a full DIY garden design course, but you don’t have to wait to get started.

Step 1: Start with the Curb Appeal Garden Audit Kit (free)
In about 10 minutes, you’ll score your outdoor space on seven core design factors and see which changes would make the biggest visual impact. It’s the same lens I use when I look at a new site.

When you grab the Garden Audit Kit, you’ll also get The Garden Letter, my email newsletter with practical garden design tips, real project breakdowns, and first access to workshops and special offers. Unsubscribe anytime.

You can have the garden of your dreams. You don’t need natural “design talent.” You just need a framework and a guide.

I’d love to be that guide.
