For this year's Christmas and holiday season mantel, I kept with the same theme I used outdoors on my porch - a natural look with evergreen garlands, live redwood cuttings, and sugar pinecones. There’s nary a red poinsettia or decoration in sight; I think I craved a palette of soothing greenery with muted winter neutrals after a tumultuous year. A natural palette is also a practical choice.
